If you like your music to be conventional/mainstream then Prolapse are not the band for you. Their music is experimental and not an easy listening experience but does reward perseverance. They play very stark almost industrial music, listen to the bass & drums on "framen fr.cesar", but it is still nevertheless very passionate. They have a love of weird song titles e.g "zen nun deb" (and many similar oddities) and have two extraordinary vocalists. Mick Derrick, who has a strong Scottish lilt, and for whom they should really include a lyric sheet as you find yourself straining to hear his words and Linda Steelyard who provides a lovely female counterpoint. Instead of harmonizing though they almost seem to be dueling and sing over each other which shouldn't work but does e.g listen to "TCR". The songs are trance like in nature and sometimes don't work but the CD is worth it if only for the epic 15 minute "Flex" which has a great build up and then just kicks in with everything they can muster, just great. This is probably not their best CD as an introduction and i'd go for "The Italian Flag" as a newcomer, even though it's a double LP, but this is a really good diverse album and should be required listening.

Not Prolapse's best, but worthwhile nonetheless.

Just a quick word of warning: the UK release doesn't include "Irritating Radiator" or "TCR".
