This review is from: Kidney Stew is Fine (Audio CD)
Alto saxophonist and blues singer Eddie 'Cleanhead' Vinson(1917-1988), guitarist T-Bone Walker(1910-1975) and pianist Jay MxcShann(1916-2006) combine forces effectively on this March 28, 1969 session, originally recorded for BLACK & BLUE in France, with Hal Singer(tenor saxophone); Jackie Sampson(bass) & Paul Gunther(drums).
Highlights of the 10 tracks are Vinson's 'Juice Head Baby', Big Bill Broonzy's 'Just A Dream', Duke Ellington's 'Things Ain't What They Used To Be' & Percy Mayfield's 'Please Send Me Someone To Love'.
'Kidney Stew Is Fine' is an entertaining and varied Eddie Vinson album which makes a valuable addition to any blues or jazz collection.
