Being the fifth album I've heard by Modest Mouse, I was delighted to discover that it was easily as incredible as their other underated classics such as Lonesome Crowded West and Moon and Antartica. It seems that very few contemporary bands present such memorable stories and original ideas as well as MM do, especially against such a stylistically raw and individual sound. This album is very diverse musically, containing slide guitar in parts as well as the very manic distorted playing that all MM fans will be familiar with. Overall an extremely enjoyable album, despite it being 16 tracks long, it seems to pass in a matter of seconds.

Utterly brilliant album (as you probably already know), the sleeve and vinyl were in perfect condition and it plays fantastically. The vinyl reissue also comes with two extra tracks that are excellent and I keeping with the musical style of the previous tracks along with a free mp3 download which was unexpected but very much welcome. All in all great music, great presentation and great extras, what more could you ask for?

Plenty of good moments on here but as with some other Modest Mouse albums I find it hard to shake the feeling there's a really good 40-45 minute album trying to fight its way out of the 74 minute collection they've put together here.

"This is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About" is a truly fantastic album in all respects.

Nothing beats the raw sound of this album, a thoroughly satisfying listen for any MM fan

Pre Johnny Marr so not great. You could pick out the few best songs and ditch the rest.
