5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best Detroit garage band., 23 Nov 2001

An absolute scorcher of an album. In your face, garage rock 'n' soul from Detroit's finest female fronted fuzz-freaks. The vocals are just mind-blowingly powerful.
Some terrific covers here including "I'll keep Holdin' On" and "Bad Girl" (originally "Bad Man" by The Oblivians). The band obviously owe a lot to their hometown's musical heritage and I think they are doing an admirable job of keepin the fires of soul burning bright. If you like 60's soul, you'll like this. If you like garage punk, you'll like this. If you love good music then you'll LOVE this! Check out The Dirtbombs, The Come Ons, The Delta 72 and The Now Time Delegation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow., 3 Aug 2004
This review is from: Mink Rat Or Rabbit (Audio CD)
I don't often feel compelled to write a review, but wow, this album just powered out of my speakers and I know I am going to listen to it a dozen times before I stop. This has all the energy and sound of old Phil Spector recordings, with the absolute swagger of the Von Bondies, the tone of the Black Keys and the sass of Nancy Sinatra. This is music that feels live and alive. Unbelievable. How come I didn't try these guys earlier? Thanks for the recommendation, Amazon...

imagine debbie harry replaced johnny thunders in the heartbreakers and they did a covers album with the help of phil spector! if you can get your head round that and like the idea then you,ll love this.
i couldn't stop playing it for weeks.its just so raw and powerful yet has a great nostalgic feel
for a band who don't write their own stuff this is amazing, they are full of energy, soul, emotion and are talented too. rachel is as good a female vocalist as you could wish for and does justice to some obscure 50's and 60's R&B/soul diamonds.
Garage soul/rock n roll at it,s best!
