5.0 out of 5 stars The Little Girl with the BIG voice., 2 Jan 2003
This review is from: Complete Decca Years (Audio CD)
This 4 CD box set contains almost all of Judy Garland's recordings made for Decca from 1936 to 1947. During her time with this label Judy rose from being just a singer to one of the world's best known talents. You can hear that talent shine through all the way in this collection. Featuring duets with Gene Kelly, Mickey Rooney and Bing Crosby, amongst others, and material you might not expect to hear from Judy Garland (including what may be the quintessential 1940s pop tune "On the Aitchison,Topeka & the Santa Fe" with The Merry Macs), this is a valuable document of one the finest singers of not just her own time, but of all time. Also included are rare alternate takes, some of which are released for the first time. You want to know why all the ballyhoo about Judy Garland? Listen here.
