5.0 out of 5 stars Chill of an Early Fall
Pleased with this cd and it was good to listen to the singing of George Strait, one of the best C&W singers.
A 5 star rating is deserved.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good early 90s album from King George
This 1991 album is one of George Strait's quieter affairs, in the mold of his later, 2005 CD, Somewhere Down In Texas. This 1991 album is one of George Strait's quieter affairs, in the mold of his later, 2005 CD, Somewhere Down In Texas. The hits include the title track - a Number 3 hit - and the two Numbes 1s, "If I Know Me" and the rather similarly entitled "You Know Me Better Than That". But what's good about this CD is how he balances the modern hits with the three classic country covers - and, this being George Strait, they are all sound equally traditional. His signature Texas Swing re-emerges on "Home In San Antone" and, on another highlight, the cover of Bob Wills' "Milk Cow Blues", where an almost blues style prevails. The covers continue with "Lovesick Blues", a song Hank Williams himself covered. This track only made it to Number 23 - the first time Strait had ever seen such a low chart placing, which he puts down to the yodeling and mantains that, consequently, radio refused to play it. The one weaker track is the rather sleepy "Anything You Can Spare", but the better tracks easily outweigh it; namely, "I've Convinced Everybody But Me", "Is It Already Time" and "Her Only Bad Habit Is Me".
