5.0 out of 5 stars A great album, but one horrible glaring error, 22 Jan 2003

Anyone who has seen the film knows that the music is a key part of the movie and is well used to describe the mood of the scene. Thus the music used therein is a fantastic selection of the best in early 90s and late 80s alternative music that is well worth owning, even as a standalone album. On this note, I more than highly recommend that you buy this immediately. However, for fans of the film: you must be warned that the original Leonard Cohen version of 'Everybody Knows' is inexplicably not included here, only the version included in the final broadcast. This is a major error, as this song is definately the most important in the song. However, it is worth getting the Cd anyway and getting a Leonard Cohen album. It can only open you up to more classic music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, 2 Dec 2000

I had this on tape when the film first came out, and it hasn't lost anything in the intervening years - an absolutely superb selection of music from the period - particularly the little-heard version of "Wave of Mutilation" (a personal favourite) and the cover of Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows" by Concrete Blonde. You must buy this! (and the film isn't half bad, either ;-)

4.0 out of 5 stars uterly life spanking, 30 Sep 2003
This review is from: Pump Up the Volume (Audio CD)
I always remember the film from when i was around 15 and recall the great Track. It was an excellent film and the memorys of being young have been rekindeld with this album. A great mix of good music with decent lyrics, unlike the crap being pumped out by todays musicly talentless bands who need to repeatedly cover the greats, that the fans are to young and/or nieve to recall.
