What can you say about Mr Lindley ? the Main man of Jackson Browne for a number of years,Played on the classic album by Terry Reid-"River",toured with Crosby and Nash and has guested on Warren Zevon's albums!Probably working with Ry Cooder on the soundtrack album "Paris,Texas "brought him to the notice of some people. He also played on Cooder's "Bop till you drop" album. This guy is just so talented ,give him any instrument and he will play it for you,It was his classic slide guitar playing on "Late for the Sky " which made it such a good album. "Very Greasy" is a great album ,to me it's the same style as Ry Cooder's "Paradise and Lunch"El Rayo-x are a fine band influenced by the reggae ridim and rock and Roll! The album has that feelgood factor and it really lifts your spirits ! Every track is a gem and the band do a great version of Zevon's "Werewolves of London " Linda Ronstadt sings harmony vocals on the opening track "Gimme da 'ting" other classic covers are "Do ya wanna dance ?" and "Papa was a Rolling Stone" with some cracking lead guitar by Lindley! Mr Lindley is still producing the goods and at present is working with Wally Ingram ! You should check out their music as well as the El Rayo-x albums ! Yes,Mr Lindley, the genius that not too many folks have heard of !Now is your chance !

Fun with Style, 1 Mar 2004
I've just got hold of this on 2nd hand vinyl and I agree with the previous reviewer 100%. This album is a glorious example of musicians with consummate skill having a really good time playing music they clearly love and enjoy. If you are having a bad day, put this on and I guarantee you will feel better after only a few bars. And if it doesn't get your body moving catalepsy has set it. I make special mention of two further things:-(1) Jorge Calderon's bass-playing is magnificent - he could make Deck of Cards swing. (2) The production (by Ms Ronstadt) and sound quality are first class. Cheer yourself up and buy it.
