5.0 out of 5 stars Maybe The Best Live Rock Album Ever?
I've owned a copy of this album since I was a school boy (embarassingly over 30 years ago).
There have been times in my life when I haven't played it for several years.
But no matter how long since I last heard it, as soon as the first notes ring out...
Quite simply, one of the VERY best live albums. Humble Pie, as tight and as rocking as you could ever...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great sound but boring to listen to
Clearly lots of people adore this record, and this is why I was swayed into getting a copy. The sound is good, with excellent, punchy bass and crunchy guitars, and the reference made elsewhere to the vocal style of early AC/DC is not too wide of the mark. Unfortunately, the songs are dull and go on for ever. This is not interesting extended jams in the style of the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Humble Pie: Rockin' the Fillmore, 27 July 2012

Wow! This brought back some great memories! If you like your rock straightforward with a blues accent, you really ought to give this a listen. Top track: "I don't need no Doctor", power chords plus the incredible Steve Marriott. Give it a go!

Yes - another 70's schoolboy! Saw Humble Pie at Hyde Park - excellent stuff - the best Humble Pie album by far.

Bought it with Frampton DVD for Christmas.
My son tells me its good, it must be as he hasnt let me listen to it yet.
He is a guitarist and uses a talkbox a la Frampton.

The sound is good, with excellent, punchy bass and crunchy guitars, and the reference made elsewhere to the vocal style of early AC/DC is not too wide of the mark. Unfortunately, the songs are dull and go on for ever. This is not interesting extended jams in the style of the Allmans at Fillmore, more ragged songs that just don't know when to stop. I suggest checking out some sound clips on YouTube before taking the plunge. Turning it up to 11 does, no doubt, help though...

2.0 out of 5 stars Vastly Over-rated album, 1 Nov 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore (Audio CD)
I must agree with Sean Hamill's review of this album, it is so over-rated that I could not believe how poor it is. The music critics say how great this album is, but it is just over indulgent wailing and shouting by Steve Marriott, and I was very disappointed with it.
I love the Small Faces and have Humble Pies' Anthology, but this is very poor fare.
If you want the best live albums, then go try "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out and If You Want Blood I've Got It, they will never be beaten.
