If anyone ever doubted Mariah's singing ability before this live set, they certainly couldn't after this. Her voice is amazing, covering at least five octaves, one minute soft and tender the next glass-shatteringly high and loud!! A great sing-a-long CD(just make sure no-one is listening because hitting those high notes is impossible!!)

Many words come to mind when i think of Mariah Carey and her amazing voice but only one truely sums up my feelings towards her, her voice and the music when i first heard this EP - WOW!!! If anyone thinks they can sing, listen to this album and realise compared to this lady NO-ONE can sing!!! Her 'other worldly' power, her fantastic trills and vibratos, her midboggling, glass shattering almost 7-ocatve range... they all come out on this gem of an album. She is one of only a few artists who can churn out many different genres of music and here we hear pop, gospel, r'n'b, soul, we hear up tempo and ballads. its truely amazing, she is truely amazing and if you want to hear the force of nature that is Mariah's voice at its very best buy this album, you wont regret it!

This is a recording of her live show MTV Unplugged in 1992, which was her first widely seen live concert. Mariah performs songs from her self titled debut and follow up album 'Emotions' along with a cover of Jackson 5's 'I'll Be There'. Every song is performed acoustically meaning that the songs sound completely different and often better than the original studio versions. As far as live performances go, it doesn't get much better than this! She sings every song just as good if not better than the studio. The live band brings to life songs like 'Vision of Love', 'Someday' and 'Make It Happen' in such a way it makes you wonder why they weren't done like this in the first place. It also has her US no.1 hit cover of 'I'll Be There' which is one of the best covers I have ever heard (sang with backup singer Trey Lorenz). I would recommend this not only to Mariah fans, but also to anyone who enjoys and appreciates good live music as this could potentially convert non-fans into fans. It may be short, but its such a quality live show in every way that it doesn't bother me at all.

This album essentially exibits her huge, soaring voice to its full potential. 'Unplugged' came very very early in her her huge career and it shows! It is nice to hear her just singing the songs and not making a huge fuss inbetween! However the album could use a few extra tracks on it as she had 2 previous studio albums to take tracks from. Having said that, it would perhaps ruin the very intimate feeling of the album, which is one of its good points. Her voice sounds simply amazing and is and album only for close following fans only. I would like to see if she could still sit in front of a small audience and perform intimately in a 2003 mtv unplugged! Im sure she could and maybe its something on the planning board this year...

Despite being a 7-track EP and amazon charging you £4.98 for it, this is an extremely good live album. Mariah proves that she can sing live and proves all the critics wrong and blew critics and audiences away with her stunning vocal range!

Love this CD. Talented young lady with a voice like no other. Bought original CD 15 years ago, which is now scratched etc, so treated myself to a brand new one. Absolutely fabulous. Could listen to Mariah all day.
