This review is from: Chi Mi'n Geamhradh (Audio CD)
With her robust alto voice and equally robust appearance, Cathy-Anne MacPhee is a far cry from the fey Gaelic popsies enjoying a certain vogue today. She is also the real thing, where some of them are not.

This album is the best part of twenty years old now, but it has worn well thanks to simple arrangements - usually only one or two instruments at a time - good playing by a distinguished supporting cast (Savourna Stevenson, Charlie McKerron, Allan MacDonald) and sensible production. It's not a world-beater, but well worth it if only for Tha na h-Uain...: a sublime and evocative piece of music-making.
