5.0 out of 5 stars Pray for one more tour.
The thing about this 'spoof' band is they are by far the greatest rock band seen in the modern world. I doubt if even the masters of rock, the ancient Greeks, had ever performed to such a high standard.
Any album that has the lyrics: "My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo, I want to sink her with my pink torpedo" can only rise to the greatest heights that...

1.0 out of 5 stars Seller was great but awful remastered CD. Don't buy remastered!
Just to be clear, the seller was fine - great service. Howeful the audio quality was appalling - no dynamics, depth, subtlety, drama or insight. Lesson is - never buy the "digitally remastered". It essentially means they've squeezed all the dynamics out to make the average sound level higher, the way they do with pop music to make it compete on the radio. For some reason...

Firstly, to understand the cover, watch the film! But if you haven't seen the film, then surely you wouldn't be here!

This is a selection of the songs that you hear in the movie- essentially, the soundtrack, but because it's a movie about a ban it does feel a bit more like a normal band's album release. It doesn't actually sound overly comical or "silly", nor does it contain dialogue.

The music is decent, but not classic- but then it's not really meant to be classic rock anyway. I enjoyed it.

Considering they are taking the mick, the rock is ok. Works best were humour is to the fore...like in Stonehenge. Not one you would listen to a lot though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hurrah!!!, 12 Dec 1999

Spinal Tap! Absolute Bloody Genius! This is a superb soundtrack to what can only be described as one of the funnies rock and roll spoofs of all time. Spinal Tap take the mick out of 80's rock and roll/heavy metal with songs that have ridiculous lyrics ('She fits me like a flesh tuxedo, I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo...'), and have feature two lead guitarists with their Mashall amps that go up to 11, not 10, but 11....
I highly recommend you get the CD and the Video and laugh yourself silly.
Long live Spinal Tap

5.0 out of 5 stars MAKES ME WANNA CRY ITS SO GOOD!, 4 Jun 2001
This review is from: This Is Spinal Tap (Audio CD)
Even though I was born way after the cheesy rock era I can still enjoy it and enjoy it with this amazing album. With its classy mick take of Metallica's "Black Album" and Nigels outstanding guitar solos and the fact that all of them sing without any fault its possibly one of my favourite albums of all time. If your a metal head or love cheesy rock then you'll love this and even if you dont then still buy it...go on do it!
