4.0 out of 5 stars WHEN THE GOOS WERE PUNK
THIS ALBUM MAY COME AS SHOCK TO SOME FANS OF THE BAND WHO DISCOVERED THE BAND RECENTLY. AS I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF THE BAND SINCE 1991 I HAVE LIVED WITH AND LOVED THIS ALBUM FOR MANY YEARS. IF WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS FAST POP PUNKY TUNES THIS IS THA ALBUM FOR YOU. WITH SOME KILLER LYRICS , A GREAT COVER VERSION OF THE ROLLING STONES ( GIMMIE SHELTER )

3.0 out of 5 stars One of the must-haves for die-hard fans
Admittedly, it's not the best Goo Goo Dolls album, but there are some gems on there which are worth listening to, such as 'James Dean' , 'Outta Sight', and 'Up Yours'.
This album will probably only really appeal to hard-core Goo fans, as it contains no well-known songs, but it's a fascinating CD to listen to, if only to see just how far the Goos have come since they...

3.0 out of 5 stars One of the must-haves for die-hard fans, 28 Nov 2002
This review is from: Jed [VINYL] (Vinyl)
Admittedly, it's not the best Goo Goo Dolls album, but there are some gems on there which are worth listening to, such as 'James Dean' , 'Outta Sight', and 'Up Yours'.
This album will probably only really appeal to hard-core Goo fans, as it contains no well-known songs, but it's a fascinating CD to listen to, if only to see just how far the Goos have come since they first began. You can tell the hooks are there, waiting to be used fully, and 'James Dean' is an excellent demonstration that John has always written more thoughtful, melodic songs (which ought to silence anyone who claims the Goo Goo Dolls have 'sold out').
It's not a must-have CD, but it's a vital addition to any Goo fan's collection.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very bad, 13 Aug 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Jed (Audio CD)
The goo goo dolls started getting good on the album after this 'Hold me Up', 'Jed' is the sound of a band more content to finish a song in under 2 minutes rather than getting their instruments in tune or writing a decent tune. Goo goo dolls; very good. Jed, very bad.
