This review is from: Verdi: Il Trovatore (Audio CD)
I especially liked Franco de Grandis as Ferrando and can't stop listening to Di Due Figli. The music has a fine gypsy feel and Maurizio Frusoni makes a dashing hero. He has a 'handsome' voice, if you know what I mean.
Daniela Longhi isn't my favourite Soprano but she sings this role adequately. Tschistiakova manages to get across the hate-filled, traumatised gipsy woman.
I would have liked more drama from the Count. Although Servile's voice was good and resonant it didn't portray his jealousy enough for me.
In spite of my criticisms, I really enjoy this CD.
