4.0 out of 5 stars TYA's got what it takes, and in plenty, 28 Feb. 2011
This review is from: Live 1990 (Audio CD)
Considering all the Ten Years After fans who have reviewed the band's many albums on the Amazon website, it's somewhat surprising to get to be the first reviewer for this concert recording from Nottingham, England AD 1990. It's surprising for the simple reason that this is a truly great rock album. Not just in comparison with the band's other albums from their heyday but with any great live rock recording by any band. Alvin Lee and the band (Chick Churchill, Ric Lee, Leo Lyons) really shine on the stage, and A. Lee and his guitar & singing are in top form - as good as ever. This album really rocks, from start to finish. Technically the sounds are also perfect. An absolute must for any TYA fan - and if you're a member of the younger rock music lover generation, get this disc to hear how this truly great rock/blues band delivers high-steam, extremely tight rock music. The contents of the disc are: Let's Shake It Up/Good Morning Little Schoolgirl/Slow Blues in C/Hobbit/Love Like A Man/Johnny B. Goode/Bad Blood/Victim of Circumstance/I Can't Keep From Crying/I'm Goin'Home/Sweet Little Sixteen.

Ok i might be wrong but wasnt this the last time that the originals got back together?? You have a concert here that gives you a near full on work out of the TYA repetoire of years gone bye.. These guys are still great musicians and would still destroy some of the great pretenders of today.. Ok im living in the past but i sense that some groups just get up and play as per the record and dont break a sweat.. TYA rocked Woodstock and beyond with their ability to shine as musicians.. This album may not be the finished artical but it still proved that they could play blues n rock with feeling..

Brilliant live recording. Brought back happy memories seeing TYA at the Manchester Free Trade hall in the early `70s Great live act and this cd does them justice.
