I can't not review the other Autopsy/Abscess albums, and leave this one out, can I?
I listened to this after getting "Tormented", and so it's a bit difficult not to say that it's a bit poorer in the production stakes, but they hadn't signed to Listenable by then, so they had less money.
Still sounding similar to Autopsy, with Chris' trademark sick lyrics, and the sometimes fast sometimes slow riffing, this is another slab of gory death metal. To like it you have to be into the whole scene, otherwise it will just sound either incomprehensible or just stupid.
If you do like death metal, then there's not much that's better. Personally, I think the Autopsy stuff sounded better, but the inclusion of another vocalist (Clint Bower doubles as high vocalist, as well as one of the guitarists) has given something extra to the band.
As always, a must for true death metal fans!

This is the one...with probably the sickest, filthiest song ever:"Naked Freak Show"...muudy sound, muddy cover just like we like it!it gotta be dirty!!and it is!what was first Chris Reifert side project-for sick fun,for Abcsess is humorous, not as serious as Autopsy, but still violently insane-has became his main project and this release is awesome...not all songs are great though but some are so damn excellent that it's worth it!
you like filth, gore punk grind core, then this is a masterpiece!!
Autopsy were about as raw and filthy as death metal got, but Abscess take things one stage further, with the addition of a punk vibe alongside the death metal nastiness. Abscess's first album 'Seminal Vampires and Maggot Men' displays all of their trademark style - disgusting (and hilarious) lyrics, buzzsaw guitar tones swamped by massive distorted bass rumblings, multiple screeching death vocals, and a general air of sleaze that is hard to beat. To some people this may just sound like sloppily performed and badly produced death metal, but for the connosseuir of extreme music this is fantastic stuff.
