5.0 out of 5 stars Aching beauty and an introduction to melloncollie...
Review of the remastered album.

Honestly this is one of my favourite albums, and I've waited a long time for a remaster. I'm trying not to be biased here...

This album captures the end of teen angst and the freefall into adulthood, seeing the world with shocking clarity. The lyrics are still apposite somehow in my 36th year, and I'm generally far...

2.0 out of 5 stars Extremely disappointed
My low rating has got nothing to do with music. The remastered version of this superb album sounds great and the outtakes cd proves how good Smashing Pumpkins were at their peak. My rating has to do with the fact that the remastered disc does not play properly. I returned the first one I received because there was a strange scratchy sounding noise when the disc was...

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST ALBUM......EVER, 14 Feb 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Siamese Dream (Audio CD)
This is my favourite Pumpkins album (I have them all), because it has so many tracks that just take me to another place. I'll listen to this at least once a week and love it just as much if not more every time. It's so difficult to pick my favourite track because each one of them is brilliant in its own right. Buy this CD and your life will change - seriously. I can't believe they've disbanded......

5.0 out of 5 stars YOU MUST BUY THIS ALBUM! NOW!!, 6 Jan 2001

this is probably one of, if not the, best smashing pumpkins album. It's rock but it's not too heavy and even when it is it still has a tune that could bring a tear to you're eye, well maybe not but the songs are very moving, watch out for Cherub Rock, Today, Disarm and Soma

5.0 out of 5 stars The most talent in one single album you will ever hear!, 9 Sep 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Siamese Dream (Audio CD)
This is for me is one of the most joys to hear in my life. The first time i placed the CD in my stereo i fell in love with it. There is such a fantastic mix of excellent songs from the mellow, almost gothic Disarm to the heavy guitars on Cherub Rock. Brilliant. Buy it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Angst-filled Masterpiece, 23 Jun 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Siamese Dream (Audio CD)
There is no doubt that this is the Pumpkins at their best, for me the best moment is when Corgan delivers a burning guitar solo towards the end of 'Soma'. Other moments include the dynamic 'Hummer' and the moody 'Disarm'.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new Dimension of Music, 15 April 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Siamese Dream (Audio CD)
This is without doubt the best album that the Billy Corgan and company have ever released. It shows the Smashing Pumpkins at their best, providing classic songs such as: "Hummer", "Disarm" "Today" and "Mayonnaise". If you like Smashing Pumpkins, this album is a must have, and if you don't, get the this album and you'll surely get to like them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Noise and melody twinned beautifully, 5 Jan 2000
This review is from: Siamese Dream (Audio CD)
Before the Pumpkins got boring, they rocked in the best possible way. At a time when Nevermind made other grunge records seem flimsy and false, Siamese Dream snarled and spat, or floated along in a narcotic haze.
This, quite simply, is the Pumpkin's finest hour and has all their best songs: 'Cherub Rock', 'Today', 'Disarm', 'Rocket' and the peerless roar of 'Mayonaise'. The distorted guitar sound makes every one of the loud songs sound gargantuan and throws the stark ballads into even greater relief.
One of my favourite records of all time. Don't miss out.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Pumpkins Album, 27 Nov 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Siamese Dream (Audio CD)
My favorite cd ever, one of the few cd's i have where ALL the songs are good. Someone else said it but soma is a classic half quiet half shouting something which the pumpkins do so well. if i could give it 6 stars i would because its worth every penny. Out of 13 songs the first 11 are all classics, the last two are good but a bit to quiet (but thats just me). Nevermind doesn't come close!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very smooth indeed, 3 Nov 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Siamese Dream (Audio CD)
This is my favourite album in my collection. The songs featured on the CD are so catchy and immeasurably classy that I can't help but play it over and over again. Track 7 - Soma is worth the cost of the whole CD alone. With its mix of melodic lullaby and screaming rock guitar you can't help but love it. This knack that the Pumpkins have to move seamlessly between heavy and relaxing music styles for me is what makes them so great.

They must have been communicating with the Gods when they made this album, it is divine. What more is there to say?
