I've got both this cast album and that from the earlier Broadway revival and unaccustomed as I am to flag waving, this wins hands down. Maybe the cast, Bob Monkhouse's singing voice quite a revelation, just gets the humour of the original (Shakespeare, not Rodgers and Hart) in a way they don't stateside, but this recording shows the production to have a real zip and verve. Highlights obviously the standards "Falling in Love with Love" and "This Can't be Love" (Monkhouse's finest hour)? but an awful lot more to enjoy besides.
