In all fairness, Brian Setzer was only experimenting with swing music when this CD was released. If it was a remarkable first attempt, boy, you should hear what he sounds like now! The singer-cum-actor (one of his earliest roles was playing Eddie Cochrane - his idol - in the 1986 Ritchie Valens biopic, "La Bamba") has managed to muster-up all the raw energy of his days with the Stray Cats and turn it into a fitting tribute to those true swing bands of the 1940s/50s.
And you thought Robbie Williams (YAWN!) knew how to 'swing'!

I'm just a fan of Setzer's big band settings. I think that some of the later albums are probably better, but think this is a good addition to the collection in any case.

brian setzer is fantastic and i wonder if in the future will he ever do a tribute film to the great eddie cochran?i would recommend any of his cds to all who enjoy his type of singing because he is a great singer and guitar player.
