5.0 out of 5 stars classic grant hart, 1 Feb 2002
This review is from: Intolerance (Audio CD)
An album which recieved a mixed reception on its release. However this is classic Grant Hart, excellent songwriting, passionate performance and an edge of unpredictability which I think gives him the edge over Bob Mould, his former collaborator in Husker Du.
The album opens with 'all of my senses', a typical Hart song, sounding almost lazy in its delivery but burning with lyrical emotion.
The classic single '2541' is also here and the haunting 'roller rink'.'See the angels coming' closes the album in grand style with a great vocal performance.
This is an eclectic collection of songs which although not immeadiate, will reward any discerning listener wise enough to invest some time, in short its a 'grower'.Such investment will enable you to appreciate Hart's follow-up 'the last days of pompei',a masterpiece!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just buy it, 29 Oct 2007
This review is from: Intolerance (Audio CD)
Grant Hart steps out from the shadows after the painful split of Husker Du. Fantastic songs , wonderful arrangements - '2541' , 'All of my senses' & 'the Main' are worth the price of admission alone.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2541, 19 Feb 2006
This review is from: Intolerance (Audio CD)
It was a surprise to me that you could actually buy a cd nowadays with the track 2541, which you'll find yourself singing along after a few listens.
I first heard it on the John Peel program a while back. Of course there was the bonus of the rest of the album which wasn't half bad either.
