5.0 out of 5 stars Second installment of the humorous guide to the Lebanese series, 17 April 2011
AK (London) - See all my reviews
In this short second installemnt of the guide to the Lebanese, the authors portray the country through short one page character descriptions (if you wish stereotypes) of the main characters one is likely to come across in Lebanon. Each description is accompanied by a caricature and these are often just as vivid and comical as the writing. Many (but not all - you need to read it together with Life's Like That!: Your Guide to the Lebanese for that) character types are gone through and something tells me some of the descriptions might cut a bit too close for comfort for the odd reader - while primarily focused on Lebanon some of the characters are reasonably ubiquitous in other countries, too.

It will not replace a serious guide to the country, certainly; but it will allow for a lighterhearted approach to the country and to travel more generally. That it will have you laugh most of the time is an excellent added bonus.
