Had a 4-day Eurostar trip to Bruges and this guide was brilliant. Especially helped with the 'out of the way' places to eat. The maps were clear and the amount of detail was just about right. Don't go to Bruges without this guide. If you want a 'flavour' of the place first watch the film 'In Bruges' (very black, and sometimes violent, comedy)with the guidebook on your knee.

The print is too small for my tired old eyes and makes reading it rather difficult, especially on the hoof in the middle of a street. It also falls prey to the habitual travel guide problem: no sooner printed than out of date. A restaurant we read about in here and went to for the purpose of booking a table was no longer there, the building gutted and empty. The Tintin Shop, which gets a photo, has also gone, a clothes shop in its place. After a while, we could only cross our fingers and hope for the best.

On the plus side; A helpful compact yet detailed book.

On the negative side, quite out of date with prices and some of the restaurants which had long since closed, though this is to be expected with any guide book that isnt re-released annually.

All in all, a good priced and informative guide, and we would recommend it for a short break as it is ideal.

We recently spent a week in Bruges and this guide was invaluable. It is small enough to carry easily, yet comprehensive enough to give a good overview of the sights, restaurants, cafes etc. I had two other Guides, lent by friends, but always returned to this one.

Excellant guide for the price. Maps especially good. Saw other people carrying this guide in Bruges.

Sights are listed by category - so if you want to see what is in the area you have to look up C for churches, A for architecture etc. Personally, I would prefer it to be organised by location.

Well explained and detailed guide book on Bruges. Very easy to read and plan with at home. All the usual tourist areas covered.
Well worth the money. It made our visit to Bruges a real treat.
It is a "must" guide book for Bruges. Worth every penny.

Book looked nearly new rather than new (smudgy front and back cover). Arrived quickly though. Some interesting and useful parts of book (maps and info on fod and drink) but took most of Bruges in through recommendations once there. A city well worth a visit.
