The Abhidhamma is a very special book. It is a complete compendium of mind and matter and as such it accounts for everything within the realm of experience. Bhikkhu Bodhi translates it and organizes the work in a concise and clear manner and the work is well put together. I would recommend this for anyone that wants to get an overview of the Buddhist Path as well as for serious practioners.

A Comprehensive Manual of Abhidhamma. Take a brilliant Pali text, get a wonderful translator, Mahathera Narada to translate into English and provide an explanatory guide and publish it in the west for a Western audience. After nearly twenty years and having gone through three editions this text has now been brought up to date by Bhikkhu Bodhi one of the foremost Pali scholars, translators and writers of this present time. Another must have Buddhist book for anyone interested in Theravada Buddhism in general or Abhidhamma in particular

having studied the dhamma in this book for some years now, it really is such a blessing to have teachings such as these to lead the way. Thank you to all who have helped translate this book. A detailed analysis of the human condition, from the material to the mental world we can inhabit. Sadhu sadhu sadhu.

Also many other excellent dhamma talks at dharmaseed.org, by others such as; Bhante G, Ajahn Sucitto, Bhante Bodhidhamma, and Venerable Bhikkhi Analayo, the excellent Noble Sangha.

''This dependent origination is profound and appears profound. It is through not understanding, not penertrating this doctrine that this generation has become like a tangled ball of string, covered as with a blight, tangled like course grass, unable to pass beyond stated of woe, the ill destiny, ruin and the round of birth-and-death.''
-The Buddha, Digha Nikaya Maha-Nidana Sutta 15.1 Translation by Maurice Walsh-The Long Discourses of The Buddha. Also at Access to insight.org Translated by Venerable Thanissaro Bhikkhu.

With great reverence, may happiness be with all beings.

I note that when I LOOK INSIDE it says under the copyright acknowledgements that copies of this book for sale in the Americas only. Is it therefore legal and proper for it to be available in the UK?
