This review is from: Managing Complications in Pregnancy and Childbirth: A Guide for Midwives and Doctors (Paperback)
This is a nice overview of the complications which arise in pregnancy and childbirth but it is not a detailed text book and only gives the bare bones of the care. Another point as this is a WORLD Healthcare book there are quite a few procedures listed which are not routinly performed in the UK but if you have an interest Midwifery or Obstetrics in developing countries its gives a small insight to what you might see in practice.

As a note to midwifery students this is a nice book to carry to lectures as small and contains the basics but you'll have to refer to more detailed texts at home to get a full understanding of the topic, so make the choice if you want to pay for this or use the money towards a different course recommended text (or down at the SU on a drink the bar dry night)

To professionals, I would recommend a more detailed book especially as more midwifery care ones are being published recently, though worth picking up if you find it somewhere cheap.
