If your answer to the above question is 'yes' then this book is for you. A 'Look Inside' function would have been handy for this book's amazon page to see some examples, but the whole book is essentially a collection of old / rare / eccentric / unusual maps, of cities, regions, countries and the world, all beautifully reproduced in colour. It's a lovely book to browse and dip in to.
The maps themselves seem to have been chosen and presented more from a design point of view than because they carry any weighty significance, but this just makes the collection more diverse.... and curious. Overall, this book is a quirky oddity and anyone (like me) who likes to pore over maps will probably enjoy it.

if you like maps , or just flat pattern design , this is a truly lovely book , with a lot of content.-over 120 images ranging through most historic types of maps and some more contemporary. There is no text other than a title index, this is a book of images, one of the best i have so far.... and if that was enough there is a disc with all the images for you to print , export , download .. well worth the money a lovely find, the best pipin press book i have bought so far... much more content and better quality content than similar cheaper dover book/CD 's which are good , but can also contain a fare amount of filler ...well worth the purchase.... totally recomend
