5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure
This is an excellent book. It covers the whole of Paul's remarkable post-Beatles career. It gives full details of every song recorded by Paul (solo, Wings, The Fireman etc) with dates, musicians, different versions etc. i am a huge fan of all The Beatles - individually and collectively - and have over 200 books about them. I would place this very high on the rankng list...

2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new here.
The books is updated and includes the McCartney 2013 album-NEW- the approach is similar to Chip Madinger's Eight Arms. However, the book/text does not flow very well. Information is shallow, lacks some more depth. I still prefer Eight Arms. Although I disliked the book it contains info about the songs produced after 2000, may be it may be interesting to some McCartney...

I would place this very high on the rankng list and it is certainly unique in its coverage of Paul's career. It is translated from Italian and this is occasionally a little clumsy, but in no way detracts from the excellent factual content contained within this superb book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than expected. Packed with interesting (and previously unknown) information., 25 Feb 2014

This review is from: Paul McCartney: Recording Sessions (1969-2013). a Journey Through Paul McCartney's Songs After the Beatles. (Paperback)
I bought this book initially because I am interested in Paul McCartney's work and because reviews I had read seemed promising.
However, I am delighted at just how much has been packed into its pages. A quickly-thrown together publication it is not. The research that went into each and every song is exhaustive. The English translations from the original Italian are often incorrect (and sometimes make for humorous reading) but this should not take away from the fact that this is an exceptional book which deserves a place in every McCartney/Beatles fan's library.

I am happy to add my praise to that contained in the other reviews of "Paul McCartney: Recording Sessions (1969-2013)". The authors obviously put a lot of time and effort into creating a true "labor of love". "Paul McCartney: Recording Sessions (1969-2013)" traces McCartney's recording career, song-by-song, from 1969 to the present, and includes interesting facts and anecdotes about every song Paul has released during his solo career. As far as I know, no other book exists on this topic, at least no other book that is as comprehensive as this book. I learned something interesting on practically every page. This book is a "must" for McCartney fanatics, like me. Kudos to the authors!

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Here, There, and Everywhere'(thing), 9 April 2014

This review is from: Paul McCartney: Recording Sessions (1969-2013). a Journey Through Paul McCartney's Songs After the Beatles. (Paperback)
He is probably the single most talked and written about musician of at least the last 50 years if not the last 100. With this book, we get to see everything he ha has recorded since just before leaving the Beatles until now('New'). And quite a diverse and rich catalog it is. The initial solo years of 'McCartney', 'Ram', then the 'Wings' years', back to solo Paul w/ McCartney II, the experimental music(which was always part of his musical adventures, even with the Beatles) and on until and through his current band. I can think of no one, besides John Lennon, who had a bigger impact on me and my own musical journey than Paul. And it's not as much about what he has done, although that is considerable and definitely a huge part of the equation, but, more importunely, it is as much about his attitude. His willingness to seek out ares of musical expression that just wouldn't occur to others from his background to do. The 'Liverpool Oratorio', the symphonic explorations, the retro- early Rock n' Roll, the 'Fireman' sessions with Youth, all the solo albums, the guy just does not rest and is constantly seeking ways to express himself musically.

This book allows you the opportunity to follow, evaluate absorb, critique, and learn everything Paul has had his hands on musically for the last 44 years. If your a fan of this mans music, there is no way you cannot have this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST-HAVE Macca book!, 31 Dec 2013

This review is from: Paul McCartney: Recording Sessions (1969-2013). a Journey Through Paul McCartney's Songs After the Beatles. (Paperback)
I've just finished reading Luca Perasi's exceptional book about Paul McCartney's solo recordings. This was one of the most awaited book for me this year and it fulfilled my expectations greatly.
All of Paul's solo songs are dealt with nice care: inspiration information, dates, instrumentation, studio locations, musicians and their biographies are given on 440 pages, with some nice anecdotes from the contributing artists as well. The story starts with The Lovely Linda and through 383 tracks finishes with Paul's latest song 'Scared' from the highly acclaimed 2013 album 'NEW'.
The translation to English is top-notch too. As a fellow Beatles fan who - as Luca - was born in 1969 (and when interestingly this book starts the story) I can warmly congratulate him on his FAB book. It was a job well done, worthy to Paul McCartney's name.

This is a book every Macca or Beatles fan should have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warning - Addictive!, 24 April 2014

This review is from: Paul McCartney: Recording Sessions (1969-2013). a Journey Through Paul McCartney's Songs After the Beatles. (Paperback)
I have to add my praise to the other reviews - this is a really great book. With the Beatles era well-covered, it's refreshing to read about Paul's post-1969 music and career. The book is full of fascinating nuggets of information and insight, spanning over 40 years of great music from a true genius. You might be surprised to find out which songs were inspired by Heather Mills ... and which is Paul's tribute to Ringo's first wife ("thanks Mo!"). It's all in this well-researched, topical and very entertaining book. But beware - once you pick it up, you'll have difficulty putting it down!

One of the few -if only- Beatles books to go up to the present day (2013), instead of stopping at the 80's. A treasure trove of information, guaranteed to delight any Beatlemaniac. I wish there was a Ringo book like this.

Love this book. First one of it's kind if that's possible to say about any of the Beatles. Glad that somebody finally got all of the facts right about McCartney's recording sessions
