5.0 out of 5 stars Set of 3 Plain Journals - Softcover, 4 Sept. 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Plain Cahier (Paperback)
This is a different style of 'book' from other Moleskine products I have bought, for several reasons.
1. It is a set of three Plain Journals.
2. The cover is made of thin brown card, similar to the card used to make traditional stencil plates before the linseed oil is applied. It is a soft-cover not the hard-cover as suggested in the Amazon listing that is usual on Moleskine books.
3. The journals are stitched the length of the spine, not stapled or glue. They resemble a high quality school exercise or copy book.
4. Each journal is 80 plain pages with the last 16 sheets detachable, 13x21cm, on a cream acid-free paper.
5. The inner pocket on the back cover is created by a fold over flap glued on the bottom edge; not the expandable pocket of hard-covered Moleskines.

All this makes for a more portable notebook that is lighter weight with the flex of a soft-cover making it more friendly to put into a coat pocket.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Nice All-Rounded Notebook, 18 Dec. 2011
This review is from: Plain Cahier (Paperback)
Moleskine notebooks just feel right and these are no exception.

I bought a set of three plain cahiers as I planned to draw designs on them to give as presents for birthdays and christmas. The cover is a light brown flexible card and it took to my drawings with no bleeding of colours or seeping. The paper itself is light cream/ivory/off-white colour which is nice but the pages are quite thin so any heavy writing will imprint onto the next page. There is a little flap at the back for any lose pieces of paper, something you wouldn't find in a cheaper notebook and is a helpful touch.

I would recommend these notebooks to anyone that likes class and quality, they're good for anything. Also, they smell great.
