Briiliant book. Reminds us its governments and political systems that make war, not the poor ordinary men who end up fighting it and dying.

Anyone who has an interest in WWII military history should read this book. A view of D-day from the perspective of a German soldier. An excellent read

War is a cruel thing, and this is an account by a young German soldier who was under orders to kill or be killed! Sad indeed that so many people lose their lives in tragic conditions......War needs to be learned from, not glorified
