Lately, as my interest in art grew, it was to sculpture that I've to dedicate some of my time. Taschen brings 2 very nice art albums (a total of 1152 pages, within a hardcover box) with very good quality photos, useful information either for educational purposes or just art lovers; also very attractive price. This is guaranteed to keep you busy for some time because the subject is covered in detail structured in different categories, it may be too much to read it for cover to cover; best to be used as an reference book for sculptures you came across in museums, as well as what to see when taking a trip to a major historical city. One thing that can bring some problems when finding works for an exact artist, is that there are not grouped in artist categories but in different themes, scattered across the whole content of the books. Being from Romania I was very impressed to see that Taschen provides very accurate information: as for example Brancusi, which is a romanian artist and one of the best in modern sculpture, have some of his works in his native town of Targu Jiu (far from being one of the largest cities in Romania) - either way the editor puts them in the right place (even writes the correct name) and presents photos taken in this very location. If you love art in general, you have my recommendation for this albums.
