5.0 out of 5 stars Essential book if you're into cars of this period
Fantastic photos take you right back to the period. The cars are almost all exceptional, and all the photos are stunning with excellent reproduction. There are few words but they're not really needed.

Many years ago I purchased Motor Magazine's "Supercars of the Seventies". This is a great companion book as it covers many of the precursors of those...

2.0 out of 5 stars Grew up in the 70's, nice cars but...............
If you are a car fan who grew up late 60's / 70's the Dinky Lamborghini Marzal, (matchbox) Carabo etc . might capture your imagination. This book had a lot of potential but as a car nut, soft focus photos of ground breaking concept cars obscured by soft focus women really doesn't work for me. As a straight man I was always irritated that 70's custom car magazines had...

Fantastic photos take you right back to the period. The cars are almost all exceptional, and all the photos are stunning with excellent reproduction. There are few words but they're not really needed.

Many years ago I purchased Motor Magazine's "Supercars of the Seventies". This is a great companion book as it covers many of the precursors of those supercars and positions them into the wider context.

I have to say that Marcel Gandini is my favourite designer, and this book just confirms his exceptional abilities. But when you see, for example, the Pininfarina Modulo in close-up detail, you have to gasp at Paulo Martin's vision. Truly this was the best time for concept cars and this book captures a significant proportion of them in unrivalled photos.

The one downside is that at 34.5cm tall the book is slightly too big to fit in my bookshelf.

Highly recommended!

This book had a lot of potential but as a car nut, soft focus photos of ground breaking concept cars obscured by soft focus women really doesn't work for me. As a straight man I was always irritated that 70's custom car magazines had semi naked women obscuring the cars/artwork - who would put a topless woman in front of a good Camaro/Capri etc ? This is worse, the picture quality is poor (oh and the women are wearing jumpsuits). £65 no. £40 no. less than £10 ~ possibly
