5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Wartburg, 28 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Wartburg Automobile 1965 - 1991. (Hardcover)
I owned one of these cars, back in the mid 70s. It's great to see a book on the subject, especially as the Wartburg, which unlike the Trabant, is not that well known here in the UK. Sadly, I know very little German, but there are plenty of nice images, which is what I was really after anyway. Also there's the bonus of seeing some of the promotional material, that the company issued. The book is hardback, and the standard and layout of the pages is very good. There are many volumes on the iconic Trabant, but the Wartburg is treated very much like the Cinderella of the old Communist era cars. That's a pity, because in my opinion, it knocks the Trabant into a cocked hat as far as looks are concerned, well, I think so anyway. In short, if like me, you're into the Cold War era autos, then this one's for you.
