Beware, that this particular edition is an abridged so-called "Easy reader" edition -- you may see ER on the cover's photo. Basically, this is more like a text-book for people studying French. It contains at best the quarter of original book's volume -- about 100 pages of very sparsely printed text with numbered lines, many illustrations and footnotes. The original book should be about 300 pages long.
This is not in itself a bad thing -- as it says on the first page (in my translation from French) "this edition was abridged without reducing the complexity of the language used by the author". Also, apparently, author have used unusual language constructions and invented words, which are explained in the footnotes. There are also some kind of test questions in the end of the book.
However, all this should be stated on the book description page -- the "Look Inside" feature shows a full Kindle edition instead of this one, which is also misleading.
So, if you are looking for the text-book style edition -- this one is for you. If you want to read the 'real' "L'ecume des jours" this edition is DEFINITELY not the one you should buy.
