This is a fascinating and useful book full of extremely helpful hints and tips for using all the most popular parts of the internet. It is important to say up front it does not tell you how to search the internet, but gives all those little inside tips for getting started or enhancing your experience of Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and blogging amongst others. One word of warning it is very firefox centric and this is one of the reasons I have given the book 4 stars. The other reason I have given it 4 stars is that some of the links it asks you to click on do not exist anymore as the user interface has changed for the sites. In all fairness to Dan Oliver, who wrote this book, things do change fast in the world of technology. It would be difficult for any book to be spot on in such a fast changing world. It did , however, lead to a somewhat frustrating experience at times. This book is useful for anyone just starting out using this type of media, but as a slightly more advanced user I also found a lot which was useful. I am not sure people who had been using these sites for some time would find anything of interest. Overall, I would haighly recommend this book as it is a clear well layed out book, which will lead you through the steps of using the most popular social media sites.
