5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive reference for holiday-makers and students
This book beats the competition in its thorough treatment of Danish pronounciation, reknowned for being tricky for the foreigner. Previous dictionaries I had purchased had been rebadged Danish publications (which give no indication of how to actually pronounce the words!), this one is clearly also aimed at foreign learners.

2.0 out of 5 stars A vocab book, not a dictionary!
If you are a tourist, need a quick-fix word and don't really care about grammar, then this may be the book for you. If not, don't bother.
This book has pronunciation for every word it lists (and it is worth purchasing just for that), but does not clearly state the gender for these words; which confuses matters. The word for 'bird' for example, is displayed as 'Fugl'...

Recommend this book for those starting to learn the language, or even those wanting just enough to get by on holiday there, without having to resort to English.

If you are a tourist, need a quick-fix word and don't really care about grammar, then this may be the book for you. If not, don't bother.
This book has pronunciation for every word it lists (and it is worth purchasing just for that), but does not clearly state the gender for these words; which confuses matters. The word for 'bird' for example, is displayed as 'Fugl' c. This would mean that the word is common 'en', but it does not state the plural form; 'birds'. In a dictionary it would simply say, 'Fugl, (-en, -e), which is all the info you need. It would not have been too difficult to add this and would have improved it 60%. If you need a more straightforward, less confusing, more detailed dictionary then spend £27+. It will be worth the extra money!!
