Very useful. Really you find everything in the internet but when you travel you do need a book where you can find a restaurant in a "safe way".Also the chance to choose a hotel from a detailed list printed is very useful too. Afterwards you have chosen the hotel this way you look for the best offer in the internet.

I don't think that I will be buying this particular Michelin red guide again because over the years it has become less and less useful to me. Some cities that I visit frequently (e.g. Nice) have been removed completely, and others (e.g. Paris and Berlin) contain fewer entries relating to the middle-ranking establishments that I favour: I don't think that this is because their standards have slipped but rather because of new openings (fair enough) and the fact that this guide is more biased towards the needs of business travellers rather than leisure travellers.

This Michelin Guide is indispensable to the city traveller. It is superb, and trustworthy, never a mistake over quality. I have used it for years, and have never been disappointed by the recommendations.

Generally, I eat at the 'bib' restaurants if abroad, and Michelin always comes up trumps. The details about the cities, too, are useful as starting points for tourism.

The problem with this guide is that it is quite dilute: to fit in the cities and content means that it's a shortened version of the country-by-country guides. However, as a starting point, it is a great introduction.

There is a smartphone app from Michelin that covers ALL European Country Guides in one... that is essential.

But, of all the travel guides I have used, Michelin is by far the best. Things like TripAdvisor simply aren't trustworthy because you never know who writes the reviews.
