City guides typically combine a map and a street directory. Sometimes you get the street directory on the back of the map: very unhelpful in a high wind. Sometimes you get a little booklet, containing the street directory, fixed to the cover: this is the best option. This map, however, has a detailed and legible street directory, but hardly any map!
According to the summary map on the cover, the main map should cover all the arrondissements of Lyon (1st to 9th) plus the suburb of Villeurbanne, all lying within the peripheral motorway. In fact it covers only the central area (roughly the 1st and 2nd arrondissements). There are only two double pages of map! The first runs from grid squares G8 to J11 and the second from K8 to M11. Try and find Cours Gambetta. According to the street directory it runs from K11 to L13. But there is no page bearing these grid squares.
There is what looks like quite a useful double page spread of the public transport network, but you wonder what else is missing.
And this is a Michelin publication! They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
