5.0 out of 5 stars The essential work on Doctor Who's torturous continuity, 27 Dec 2012

This review is from: Ahistory: An Unauthorised History of the Doctor Who Universe (Paperback)
A book that charts the adventures of dozens of heroes through over 1400 stories, from the beginning of time itself, right through the end of the Universe and out the other side... it's not for the faint hearted. Christ, even the contents list is twenty pages long. It's a mammoth endeavour, showing real love for Doctor Who and the works it has inspired, and any true obsessive will surely love it.

He LOVED it, I keep finding him with his head buried in it, and he uses it as a reference to keep going back to, so must be good

5.0 out of 5 stars A very extensive source of information about the Whoniverse, 3 Aug 2013

This review is from: Ahistory: An Unauthorised History of the Doctor Who Universe (Paperback)
This book is an essential item for every Who fan's library. It's a very hefty book with a whole timeline of the show and the Doctor's adventures. The televised adventures are written in bold font and non televised adventures in standard font so it's very easy to choose which canon to read. A book to read cover to cover or dip into however you choose. Fantastic!!

The facts and detail in this book are incredible and compulsive! An amazing piece of work! I'm not the most obsessive fan of Dr Who, but I enjoyed spotting facts and connections I had made whilst watching the show and reading about so many more that I hadn't!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, 24 May 2013

It's the perfect book for all Doctor Who fans, it doesn't miss a single detail. Perhaps verging on too big, but that's hardly a complaint as it's certainly not a book to read cover to cover just one to dip in and out of.

This review is from: Ahistory: An Unauthorised History of the Doctor Who Universe (Paperback)
an extensive listing of the doctor who universe from the beginning of time right through to the end of it. the main problem with books like this, is that, because their are so many different forms of doctor who media, one will often contradict another. obviously this is no ones fault, but it can often lead to a confusing read. one min the earth is overcrowded, then the daleks wipe out 2/3rds of the population, then its overcrowded again. the earth has 10 billion people, then it has 6 billion. one min the air in london is so polluted that people need gas masks, then its perfectly fine to walk around without one. some stories seem to have more advanced technology than stories set after them. the ozone layer is failing, then it isn,t, then it is, and so on.

once again, this is no ones fault, and i did find this book enjoyable. if you can ignore all the discrepancies, then you may find it enjoyable too
