5.0 out of 5 stars Essential reading, 18 Jun 2011
This review is from: Costume Design 101: 2nd Edition: The Business and Art of Creating Costumes for Film and Television (Costume Design 101: The Business & Art of Creating) (Paperback)
A brilliant book! Gives a fairly comprehensive (and realistic) overview of how costume design for film works. It doesn't tell you how to actually make costumes, but how to go about making them professionally. The book lists all the job descriptions, starting from the most basic and finishing with the designer, and what one is expected to do in each. Removes any romantic notions about the job! Definitely worth reading if that's the career path one wishes to follow.

This book is full of useful information for students and freelance workers looking to break into the costume industry. As a student of costume it has given me an insight which I would not have otherwise been able to get.
