This review is from: Borgia: Blood for the Pope (Hardcover)
The Borgias were the ultimate will to power, where dad used his chldren as pawns for a greater good. Marrying his daugher to a series of suitors to bump them off he consolidated his hold on Italian life. Then he carefully placed his scions where he could pull their strings and they danced within his shadow.

Jodorowsky the mystic sensual hippy transcendentalist brings us his shimmering vision whilst the figures are hewn from the illustrative work of Manara. Originally in Italian these demarcate an adult comic book sensuality. Therefore those of a simple mind need to turn away now. I mean you Joe 90.

This has the full range of carnality and will to power, the violence, the seething hatreds of the middle ages captured through the projections of Jodorowsky. Originally part of the "Heavy Metal" comic book series they are a colletion of blood and gore rituals of the renaissance. De Vinci came to the fore in building the siege weaponry of Cesar Borgia, a fact usually left out of the eulogy.

This is one book in the series, there are at least 4
