A good little book for the price and some quite interesting stories about the great artist's work.

A perfect stocking filler.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not an academic treatise, but a unique collection, 3 Sep 2012
This review is from: Banksy Myths & Legends (Paperback)
This book is a collection of the stories about Banksy that have done the rounds. Some of them are probably true. Possibly more of them than you might think.

If you are looking for meticulously-researched investigative journalism, this probably isn't for you. If you like Banksy for his sense of fun, then it probably is.

as a massive banksy fan i have purchased most books by or about the elusive artist ,this book was made to look like banksys original small black books ,banging your head ,cut it out ,exstencilism DONT BE FOOLED ,whilst those books are of a do it yourself ethic and represent the artists early works in a cheap paper back (although they now sell for about forty quid a pop ),this book is just another spiv trying to make a few bob out of the banksy label ,I put it on a par with the shops selling banksy canvas photoshop prints on every market ,One of the reasons i love banksy so much is the fact he keeps his anonymity at the cost of being the most copyright infringed artist of all time, but it does leave a large gap for quality control (see pest control, www banksy) .Avoid this book at all costs there are dozens of better ones to buy before even considering this ,even the sun newspaper got a better grasp on banksy stories

5.0 out of 5 stars The legend lives on, 2 Feb 2012

Everybody loves Banksy! A whole world of stories have been built up around the Banksy legend.

This little book pays homage to the outlaw graffer. Banksy Myths & Legends is crammed full of Banksy's cunning stunts and is extensively illustrated throughout.

So who is Banksy? Is he a red-haired woman? Is he in a wheel chair? Does he really exist? Apparently not even his Mum knew that her son was the world's most famous graffiti artist until the Daily Mail came sniffing round her house.

I'm none the wiser as to who he is though. But you wouldn't want to unmask Zorro would you? The legend lives on...
