The author manages to tackle the subject of, er, tackle .. with humour, wit and warmth. Not only that, but the characters are believable, their dialogue sassy, the description sharp. Despite initially wanting to delight in the predicament of a banker with diminishing returns in the bedroom, James is far from a cliche. Somehow he draws you in, through confidential asides, until you genuinely want things to work out for him. I'd love to tell you whether they do ... but that would spoil it! Well worth a read in my opinion.

Wanted a change from my usual read & came across Sex Lessons didn't know what to expect but man what can I say I couldn't put it down. Been there done that came to the same conclusion men are their own worst enemies & to actually read it from another man's viewpoint just telling it as it is.
Ok it's just a story but that's just it isn't just a story, I am old enough to say I had to learn the hard way (& know this isn't a how to be a perfect lover manual, I said old enough not demented) so many of the events ring true in some form or another different scenarios but the process is just the same except men don't always work it out just bury their heads in the sand. To all you ostriches out there read this book

I don't read many books - often because I find it difficult to find a book that holds my interest long enough to finish it. But with Sex Lessons once I'd started reading it, I didn't want to put it down! It's witty and well-written. The humour and writing style mask the underlying serious subject matter to keep it fun, light-hearted, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable reading whilst also raising awareness of the issues in hand. You'd never guess that this book was the author's first - an impressive debut novel, a brilliant read and I have since purchased Daniel's second book (Three Way) which I think sums up how much I enjoyed Sex Lessons (the book!)

This is a great holiday book - the sort of book you get through in a day on the beach. Unfortunately, I'm not due on a beach anytime soon, so I read it in my garden on Good Friday when it was gloriously hot and sunny and I could pretend I was somewhere abroad. It's a tribute to the writer, Daniel Grant, that even though I am dark-skinned I got slight sunburn, as I wouldn't put it down and go inside!

Basically, James Kennedy is finding the whole business of sex hard...or not! It's a question of his mind being willing but his willy refusing to play along, and the story is how he goes about resolving that, especially as a gorgeous woman is showing clear interest in him.

Although it's very easy to read, it is a well-constructed book with good characters. I'm sure many men will empathise with James Kennedy's ...uhmm...issues although it may not be something that many admit to!

The story takes you along comfortably but be warned there is a fair amount of sex and swearing in it so it's not necessarily one for you if you are slightly prudish. However, that said, sex is the key theme of the whole story and so actually, pretty important to the central character's journey. And the swearing is part of how this guy talks. Some might not warm to him immediately but I did, as he is like so many men that I know! You know, the ones who use their arrogance to cover up that soft side that they don't want anyone to know about !!!

It's well written in the first person with James using the reader as his confidante, thus allowing us into his insecurities and self-consciousness to great effect.

If you're looking for a light tale that takes no energy to read, then give this book a go.

I really enjoyed this book. It's not the standard formula romance, and it's good to read a story told from the man's prospective, and written by a man. I really liked the main character James, and his outlook and the humour as he is telling us his story. The ending isn't obvious and the book held my attention all through. I am now a fan of this author and will definitely be reading his next book.

Unlike the main character of this book I was actually up all night! Mainly because I picked up this book and couldn't put it down until I had finnished every page. Although not a genre I generally read, I really was grabbed on page one and had to read on. It was a thoroughly engaging, funny, well constructed and above all else emotionally aware read.

The characters are well defined, the writing style is witty and the subject matter is the sort of stuff rarely dealt with other than in self help books! It's about time someone showed a male character who is in touch with his emotions when it comes to love and sex in a convincing manner.

I wouldn't be suprised if this is turned into a film sometime soon. Well worth a read.

This was one of those books that I couldn't put down for a second and then when it was over I really missed it!! Just a brilliant really enjoyable and easy to read book. Funny, warming, great plot, brilliantly defined characters that you can genuinely relate to. I cant wait for a squeal. What I really appreciated was that the author grabs a subject that most men shy away from , yanks it out and puts it out on the table for all to see. I think there are probably a fair few men who can relate to the issues addressed here and they would probably find it quite reassuring as well as it being a thoroughly fantastic book in its own right.

Really enjoyed this book - it reads like a sexed up version of Nick Hornby's earlier work; with the main character here beset by success in every area of life but between the sheets. There are some touching (in an emotional rather than pervy sense) moments. There are a few criticisms to be made (tart with heart anyone?) but as a bit of fun for very few of the family it's a good laugh!
