Poorly written, there's better out there.

I was surprised to see a lawyer penning a work about diet but the mist cleared when I linked it to her business retailing low carb foods. Low carb is gradually gaining acceptance amongst the mainstream as a useful approach to managing weight concerns but this text really does little to validate it and, IMHO, is really just a vehicle to promote her products/website. This, in itself, is fine (after all many others do it) as long as the reader is made clearly aware from the outset that this is the objective. I'd have preferred a fully researched and referenced, well-written (scientific? academic?)evidence-based text that argued the potentially sound case impartially. There are other, better, texts available that endorse a lower carb approach to eating - sadly many don't appear to be in the mainstream dietetic libraries which continue to encourage a high carb diet even though scientific evidence that this actually underpins good health is lacking.
