We all look to books like this for a reason and many of the people I have met tell me that their main reason is a wish to attain a peaceful mind. While it is undoubtedly true to say that any of Geshe Kalsang Gyatso's writings will help with this aim, the meditation handbook is, for me, a must. This is a book that not only introduces you to meditation but shows you how you can use your meditation to benefit not only yourself but others too.

Let's face it most people would admit that all they want is to be happy. That is never going to possible unless we have a peaceful mind but with this book you can begin to work towards not only achieving a peaceful mind but being happy all of the time and helping others to be happy too.

As with anything new there will be initially difficulties but take your time, (don't be afraid to stick on one section for as long as you need) but keep going back to it and in time you will wonder why no one explained all this to you before.
