This is a fantastic collection of delicious recipes. As autumn arrives and the weather gets chilly, this is the book I find myself reaching for again and again. The section on 'Exhilarating' soups is really inspired. Just what you need when you have friends over for a weekend lunch. Many of the recipes include interesting last-minute additions, which turn even the most modest bowlful into something really tasty. The range of recipes is impressive too, encouraging you to make use of seasonal (even wild!) foods, seek out more unusual ingredients, or just use up the odd cauliflower. There are useful tips, too, on how best to freeze each soup, so you can make big batches and feel confident that the defrosted version will still taste lovely.
