3.0 out of 5 stars Lockhart's "Scotch", 4 Dec 2013
A revealing insight into how malts were made (both legally and illicitly) in bygone years. Many of the company names may be unfamiliar to today's malt fans; however this remains compulsory reading for anyone wishing to broaden their knowledge of the history of Scotland's malts. Lockhart's gentle prose is interspersed with humourous anecdotes which reveal the human aspects of the Highlanders' love affair with pure malt. A gentle yet always interesting meander through the first half of the last century and the passions which fuelled the expansion of malts from blending stock to their first introductions into the premier league of spirits.

A little dated , but a fun read on the history of Scotch ...maybe too much reminiscing as you lose the shape of how the industry evolves occasionally
