If you're about to embark upon, or through work necessity be forced into installing/migrating previous versions of Exchange into the all new Exchange 2010 version, then this book will see you happily from Start to Finish. The 180 pages breeze by like having a timely conversation with a truly knowledgeable consultant.

For those looking for answers and a quick way to exchange 2010 nirvanna, you'll save yourself a good few hours or even days of googling technet articles and surreptitious blogs of dubious information.

My only wish, was that a few more technical authors were like this one. Without prejudice or politics, just simply concerned in getting from point A) to point B) in the easiest most hassle free way possible.

I look forward to his next publication soon.

If you are about to install Exchange 2010 and are used to 2003 then this book is a must read. I wasted 2 days trying to get 2010 to work with 2003. Some of the concepts are very different and the documentation is too complex to find answers quickly. This book, on the other hand, provides just the level of information required to keep you out of trouble and enough background for you to grasp the new concepts. If you are a full time Exchange administrator then you might want to move on to a more in depth book later but I would still recommend that you read this first. It is small but beautifully formed and well worth the price. There are many books that just rehash the help but this one really is a practical guide.

Like it's title simple effective and erm pratical and none of the Microsoft press waffle!
Operating in mixed environment of 2k3 2k7 and 2010, this book has been most helpful with commissioning/decommissioning projects.

For someone new to MS Exchange this a very clear read,it does not descend into technobabble like some books but explains things in clear language. I think this is probably the best technical reference I have ever read.

It would be great if all technical books were this easy to read. Jaap provides a great guide on getting Exchange 2010 running and interoperating with earlier versions. covers most of what you need to get exchange going but you would need another more in depth book such as the Microsoft Resource Kit to complete the whole picture as the author himself even says. Overall one of the best an easy to understand guides I have had the pleasure to read.

As has been said before, concise, clear and straight to the point. Doesn't go into massive detail about each subject but provides enough insight in order to be able to install and configure....5 Stars 'cos it does what is says on the tin
