5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
I bought this book to help find ways to keep the kids ( aged 13 & 9) away from the TV and game consoles for the odd afternoon. It has proved to work! So far we have done two of the easier routes...it is winter afterall....and look forward to tackling some of the harder ones on sunnier days.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book for short bike rides
Although this is a very nice book the rides are relatively short & more suitable for families with small children. As we prefer longer rides I have given the book to my daughter who has a 2 yr old for whom it will be more useful.

The directions are very easy to follow, and at no point did we feel unsure as to where to turn next.
The book also covers where you can get a snack and drink along the way...also vital in child "encouragement"!!

A great guidebook with well laid out maps, well explained routes and photos to inspire you for the rides. I look forward to ticking my way through the whole book.

Getting out on your bike should be a fun thing to do, but one of the main problems is where to go. What this book does very well is provide a nice spread of rides to choose from that are easy to follow and the information on parking and snack stops encourages you to give them a go.
Having tried each ride once or twice you'll be inspired to investigate further I'm sure - 'what if I turn down here?' The Ordnance Survey maps used are very clear and provide accurate information.
A great little book that will have you riding all over the place safe in the knowledge you know how far you're going, where the drinks/eats/toilets are, and how to get back!

We wanted a variety of days out with differing degrees of difficulty and this book does exactly that. We have really enjoyed trying them out. It doesn't matter what standard of cyclist you are.

But too big to take with you on journey. Need to make copies of information and routes. Good routes for families.

This book was written in plane simple language and easy to follow as were the maps I have been cycling this area for about a year but here were paths and bye-ways I had not seen or heard of it made my days out so much more of and adventure and also more interesting.

This book was ok, not the best bike book ever, but not the worse bike book either. Could have had more info, buts it has enough to do these basic rides in the SE.
