A handy guide to a difficult language. It helps to have it to hand if you are reading a book with gaelic references. Sometimes you recognise the word!

2.0 out of 5 stars not for learners
As a short wordlist/dictionary for tourists trying to make some sense of how to say gaelic words it's fine.
But the pronunciation guide is based on english syllables and letters and what comes out is nothing a native spaeker would ever understand. That makes it not so useful to learners who want to speak good gaelic.

A gem of a book. For any learner of Gaelic this is the book that is the gateway to the world of Gaelic pronunciation. It is erudite but simple. It provides the tools to hear the subtle and complex sounds of Gaelic consonants and vowels. It is fun to read and is a delight to dip back into when checking some point or other. This slender volume is fantastic value for money.

I must concur with the Barrach, as a very rough guide for people who aren't serious about learning Gaelic, this is ok.
But it would seriously mislead people who are actually trying to learn Gaelic, describing the sounds of Gaelic using English syllables is like describing a Monet painting only using the terms "light" and "dark" - it just doesn't work.
