4.0 out of 5 stars A golfer battling against his country!!!
Having been a fan of Seves for donkeys years i had to read his autobiography and what a fascinatiing insight into how this great man started off in life with literally nothing, caddied for members at his local club for a few pesetas and then broke through the class barrier to become a professional golfer at the highest level only to battle for pretty much his whole life...

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly written, no real insights
Very disappointed with this book. Thought the author was a bit too self absorbed and the story goes around in circles. The worst bit is about 200 pages in when Green apologises to the reader for not being able to include some material as Seve had bought back the rights for it from a previous autobiography that didn't go ahead!! What kind of insight is that then...

This review is from: Seve: Golf's Flawed Genius (Paperback)
Having been a fan of Seves for donkeys years i had to read his autobiography and what a fascinatiing insight into how this great man started off in life with literally nothing, caddied for members at his local club for a few pesetas and then broke through the class barrier to become a professional golfer at the highest level only to battle for pretty much his whole life against his country of origin to accept professional golf and develop it properly. The book flows very nicely from chapter to chapter and is not intense reading, therefore hard to put it down. A must read for anyone interested in a true champion who in recent times has suffered from serious ill health and will not play golf again (surely this is his first and last book so worth keeping).

The author also pipes in with annoying comments and analogies which do nothing for the book.
