5.0 out of 5 stars Twilight Saga Box Set
The box set is defiantly for any Twilight fan. All 4 books in hardback with slipcovers. All the books fit very snugly in a very sturdy box made of cardboard with the book covers printed on the outside of the box. It also comes with four art cards of the front covers with a quote from each book on the reverse of the card.

3.0 out of 5 stars So-So
I was given this box-set for a christmas present in 2008, and I have to say, I'm mixed on this series. I read it the first time and loved it, I was drawn into the world, and read it so fast I think I didn't really stop to see the reality.

The books have a moderately good story, the writing is at best mediocre, and I would recommend anyone who enjoys reading but...

5.0 out of 5 stars Twilight Saga Box Set, 11 Jun 2009
This review is from: The Twilight Saga Collection - Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and Four Full-Colour Collectible Prints (Hardcover)

The only problem is it is quite difficult to get a book out I end up turning the whole thing over just to get on book.

When you sit down to read one of the books it feels like you've been transported to another world where anything is possible. As soon as Edward Cullen is mentioned your instantly hooked on the series he's so mysterious that you need to know more. The saga's one of those that you can read over and over again.

I would recommend this to any Twilight fan and to somebody who hasn't read the series yet. You won't be disappointed.

I waited until I had seen the Twilight film to read the books. On the strength of that film I bought all 4 books at once, and immediately tucked in.

There are not quite the words to describe what an impact this has had on me. I am an intelligent independent 26 yr old woman, and I have been captivated like a naive 13 yr old. It feels wonderful! I read all 4 books (some 2200 pages) in 5 days. I barely spoke to anyone, I stopped to make food (but read while I ate). When I finished a book, despite my very sincere intentions to stop a while before starting the next one - I couldn't do it. Stephenie Meyer must have worked witchcraft in her words, because I am addicted. When I finished Breaking Dawn, I felt so strongly that I didn't want to let go of the saga that I immediately re-read it. Its irrational, but I love it.

In Twilight the basis of a timeless romance is laid. We meet Bella Swan: a clumsy, pale, awkward and yet pretty girl. A girl who never sees herself as others see her. This is a character that every single girl out there can relate to. Bella meets Edward. He's mysterious, gorgeous, unobtainable and everything about him draws her and us, the readers, into him. You want him as much as she does. When she's excited - so are you. This is the essence of why so many people love this book. We all felt like we were falling in love with him. Compared to normal boys, he's Adonis with uncompromised charm. Add that to the fact that he is tortured and utterly respectable and you have an uber-hero.

Naturally this perfect attraction faces its challenges. Conflict arises from obsessive vampire foes, the ultimate vampire "police", werewolves, personal sacrifice, love triangles and good old Biology. How could you get bored?! How could you put it down?

I don't know - I'm still in the moment. I hope you think this is enough to entice you... you'll really be missing out otherwise. The only question left is are you Team Edward, or Team Jacob?

The Twilight Saga is amazing! words can't describe the drama which unfolds through-out the four books. The only down side is that I have finished reading them and have nothing to give me a fix! I would highly recommend this book to any one. If your not a Twilight fan before reading these books you will be by the time you have finished. Enjoy!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Second time around, 22 Dec 2009
This review is from: The Twilight Saga Collection - Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and Four Full-Colour Collectible Prints (Hardcover)
After having accidentally watched Twilight, I was tempted to read the books as up to this point I was immune to the whole thing.
My package arrived on time and in perfectly good condition which pleased me. The books were very easy to read and once you got stuck in you could not put the book down. For the few weeks that it took me to read the books I had many late nights and thought very little of anything else other than the next opportunity to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bite Me!, 28 May 2009
This review is from: The Twilight Saga Collection - Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and Four Full-Colour Collectible Prints (Hardcover)
This is YA fiction and I'm not even close to the target audience. It's been a lot of years since I belonged in the 'teen' category BUT... despite that, I loved this book! I think it might be because the 17 year old that I once was is still fresh in my mind, and if I squint when I look in the mirror I can still see her (she just got better looking over the last couple of decades *grin*).

A five star book for me is one that I have to tear myself away from and these have to be amongst the better 5 star books I've read recently. I could not put them down, regardless of whether I fit in the target deomographic or not. I have no idea why I was so enamoured with this particular story but it just grabbed me, literally from the first chapter. It has it's flaws, and at times those flaws tried to pull me away from the pages while I wrestled with my beliefs but never did I feel like I couldn't go on. I'm actually mystified why this is such a great series, I wish I could put my finger on it but it escapes me. I am fond of a bit of vampire lit, it's true, but this goes beyond that....I think. I can't say the writing is superlative so it's not that.....but what is it? I wish I knew. Answers on a postcard, please.

Bella is a complete feminists' nightmare and I can see why that would put a lot of people off of her, but at 17 love is blind so I'm willing to forgive Bella on that score. Edward is so uber male that he fairly reeks testosterone and again, that may grate on some readers but lets put things in perspective, he's the ultimate predator and has had nearly a century of dominating his prey so on that score I'm willing to forgive him his overly masculine nature. This nurture/love thing is new for him too......

Ultimitely, lets not forget that this is a tale of vampire love which is aimed at teens/young adults and the usual complexities and concerns that come with real life won't apply here. I for one am glad to slip into Bella and Edward's world and remember what it was to be young and in the throes of first love. If you have an imagination and are willing to suspend your disbelief then you might enjoy this story. It's an enjoyable bit of escapism to while away a few hours/days but if your usual reading material tends to be the classics and nothing more, then you probably will feel the need to return here with you own 1 or 2 star review.

I devoured all 4 books in 4 days and I want to tell everyone to read them as I loved them so much, but I realise that everyone has different tastes so all I can recommend is that you read the reviews and make your own mind up from there.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful set, an enchanting read, 18 Nov 2009
This review is from: The Twilight Saga Collection - Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and Four Full-Colour Collectible Prints (Hardcover)
The Twilight Saga has achieved incredible success over the past few years and even more so considering their venture into a film franchise. Deservedly so, these books have won awards for their brilliance and on reading them, it is easy to see why.

As a reader you enter the captivating world of 17 year old Bella Swan, a young woman who moves to live with her father in the rainy town of Forks. She begins school and is the talk of the town, an exciting newcomer. Everyone is interested in this new girl, except the Cullens, five mysterious siblings, whom everyone avoids. The Cullens are different and Bella is strangely intrigued by them. When she meets 17 year old Edward Cullen, the youngest of the family, she is almost hypnotised by his perfection. Edward appears equally as intrigued over time. But Edward's family are different from the people of Forks, as Bella soon realises...

The four books in the Twilight Saga series follow the relationship and struggles of Bella and Edward. These novels encapsulate so perfectly the beauty of first and true love, with an extra twist of action, complication and suspense. Stephenie Meyer's dreamy prose, seen through the eyes of Bella Swan is utterly hypnotic, pulling you deeper into the world of Forks, the Cullen family and the complications and pressures that threaten to destroy Edward and Bella's world.

These books are timeless. I don't even think they belong to a certain age bracket. The writing is superb and the characters almost seem like real people by the end of reading.

This boxset is a lovely collection of the books, in hardback form, with postcards of the four front covers. It would make a wonderful present for any fan or Twi-hard and I have one myself, sitting proudly on my bookshelf. There's nothing better than escaping into the world of Forks and the profound romance of Edward and Bella. Enchanting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Twimum bites back., 22 Nov 2009
This review is from: The Twilight Saga Collection - Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and Four Full-Colour Collectible Prints (Hardcover)
I am a middle aged mum of two teenage daughters who wondered what the fuss was all about, and could not understand why they were so completely engrossed in the books and so enthusiastic about them. After a while I gave in to their pleading to read the books and I am so glad I did. I have always loved reading since I was a small child, and I can say that these books are the most enjoyable I have ever read and I have read them more than once. People should read them and take them for what they are, dont try and analyse them and pick them to pieces, these are written by a working mum who had a dream and decided to put it into words and thank god she did. The book sales speak for themselves, or are the MILLIONS of people who bought the books all complete idiots - I dont think so. Thank you Stephanie!
